Job Description

The Banyule Community Health Allied Health Team seeks to employ an experienced and motivated Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join an established multidisciplinary paediatric team to deliver assessment and therapy to children 0-8 years. Interested applicants must be able to work on a Monday and one other of the following days: Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. Clinical supervision is provided. Applicants must be registered with AHPRA.

Banyule Community Health has two main sites, one in the heart of West Heidelberg and the other near the train station of Greensborough. The Allied Health Team provides a range of services, (ie Podiatry, Occupational Therapy , social support) on an individual and group basis that are intended to maximize independence and support people to reach their goals, improve their health, wellbeing and quality of life.

The key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Providing comprehensive Paediatric Occupational Therapy assessments
  • Organize, plan, implement and evaluate therapy programs for individuals and groups
  • Develop individual home therapy programs supported by parental education

The key skills required for this role include:

  • Sound knowledge of paediatric occupational therapy practice and interventions
  • Experience working with vulnerable families and children
  • Knowledge and practice of a Person- Centred Care approach
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Training and experience in sensory integration desirable
