Working in the Heidelberg and Greensborough areas is a nice change from the city. Both sites are well serviced by public transport, parking is free and the shopping precincts like Greensborough, Northland, Ivanhoe and Heidelberg are 5 minutes away.
Banyule Community Health provides employees the benefit of tax concessions through Salary Packaging. This means that in addition to your tax-free threshold ($18,000 pa*) you are entitled to a further $15,899 of your earnings, tax-free. This is a permanent tax saving which increases your take-home pay.
Banyule Community Health work in partnership with an external provider to maximise the salary packaging benefit for all permanent employees. When you package your salary, you are 'packaging' the value of your expenses from your gross income. This means the value of the component 'packaged' is deducted from your gross income before tax is applied therefore significantly reducing the tax payable.
*The tax free threshold is only permissable at one place of employment. If you work more than one job, you should always seek advice as to where the tax-free threshold is best applied.
